On Thursday, May 17th, the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce had a fantastic turnout of over 80 attendees at our May Business After Hours, proudly hosted by our partner and new trustee Orlando Health . Business After Hours is a free monthly networking event available to all of our Chamber members.
This exciting evening of fellowship and networking was located at the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce and we want to thank the City of Apopka Mayor Bryan Nelson,newly appointed Orange County Commissioner Rod Love and the entire Apopka City Commission for joining us! We look forward to our partnership moving forward!
Additionally, Orlando Health provided excellent food and refreshments, a photo booth, chair massages, and information and giveaways on both Orlando Health and Carespot of Apopka .
We hope to see you at our next Business After Hours on June 28, 2018 at the Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs!

Governor Rick Scott visits Apopka

On Friday, May 18th, the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce was honored to host Governor Rick Scott for a round table meeting. This meeting included several business leaders and elected officials, in order to discuss various topics that were of great concern to our community.

Congratulations to Apopka Fire Chief Chuck Carnesale on receiving the Boy Scouts of America 's G olden Eagle Award from the BSA's Central Florida Council last month! The Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to support this great event and the BSA's Central Florida Council, as we honored you for your continued service, dedication and leadership to our community. Also, a big thank you to our Board of Director's Vice-Chair Tim Cook for agreeing to be the event chairman!

Breakfast and Learn - Morning Mingle
On Tuesday, May 8th, the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to host our newly rebranded Breakfast and Learn - Morning Mingle at the UCF Business Incubator - Apopka.
Each attendee had an opportunity to network and hear from our guest speaker, Pamela Nabors . Pam Nabors is the President/CEO of CareerSource Central Florida , which is Central Florida's regional workforce board. Additionally, we were honored to have our newly sworn-in City of Apopka Commissioner Alice Nolan join us!
Pam focused on "Finding and developing talent to keep businesses competitive and connecting Central Floridians to career opportunities.” We truly appreciate Pam and her team for joining us and delivering a very informative presentation. The Breakfast and Learn - Morning Mingle is a free professional development and networking event available to all of our Chamber members. We look forward to seeing each of you at our next Morning Mingle, on August 14th, at the UCF Business Incubator - Apopka.

Leadership Apopka - Session 6 Recap

|
|
On Thursday, May 31st, the 2018 Leadership Apopka class completed its fourth session which focused on healthcare, identifying and improving leadership skills and the history of the Apopka area. Leadership Apopka is an annual program that is designed to educate future leaders from the Apopka area. This in-depth program creates opportunities for participants to engage with our area’s leading public, private and civic leaders and develop impactful friendships with other professionals from the community. Additionally, participants will observe, interact and learn about the various industries and community assets, that are of great importance to the Apopka area and the Central Florida region.

We'd like to give a huge thank you to Florida Hospital - Apopka for hosting us at our last session and for sponsoring the delicious food for the participants. Additionally, we'd like to thank the Museum of the Apopkans and our incredible guest speakers, Joe Robinson and Orange County Commissioner Rod Love for your very informative and engaging presentations. The next 2018 Leadership Apopka session will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018.

2018 Apopka Mayor's Prayer Breakfast
