On August 14th, the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce had another fantastic turnout at our monthly Breakfast and Learn - Morning Mingle!
Our speaker this month was a proud member, Roy Richardson from Aurora InfoTech, LLC. Roy is an expert in the field of IT and specializes in cyber security, support and consulting. Roy presented some enlightening information on protecting our personal and professional workplaces from cyber attacks, data breaches and hackers.
Thank you to all our members who came and Aurora Infotech, LLC for a very insightful presentation that covered a growing concern in our everyday lives. Finally, we'd like to thank the UCF Business Incubator Apopka for hosting us. If you missed it, we hope to see you at our next one on October 9th!

On August 30th, the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce had another packed house at our August Business After Hours, proudly hosted by CFE Federal Credit Union .
Business After Hours is one of the two complimentary opportunities each month (a total of 24 free opportunities throughout the year), that is included as part of your membership.
This awesome evening of fellowship and networking included plenty of food and refreshments, as well as several door prizes. Plus, this was a fantastic opportunity to reach new and returning chamber members, all in one exciting evening!
Finally, we would like to thank Mayor Bryan Nelson and Debbie Nelson for joining us!

On August 21st, we had a completely full house at our New Member Orientation. Our New Member Orientations are a unique opportunity for us to update each of our members on the newest benefits that we have to offer.

Leadership Apopka Session 8
|
|
|
The 2018 Leadership Apopka class finished up its eighth session at the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce on August 16th. Leadership Apopka is an annual program that is designed to educate future leaders from the Apopka area.
This in-depth program creates opportunities for the participants to engage with our area's leading public, private, and civic leaders; develop impactful friendships with other professionals from the community; and learn more about the various industries and community assets that are of great importance to the Apopka area and the Central Florida region.
A big thank you to Bob Spencer from the Institute for Human Development, Inc, Jeff Piersall from SCB Marketing , Vern Graham from Electronic Locksmith, Apopka Police Chief Michael McKinley , Shelley Lauten from the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, and Emily Brown from the Central Florida Expressway Authority for participating in this session!
Also, a huge thank you to Panera Bread and Sonny's BBQ for providing the delicious food for the 15 participants. We are looking forward to graduation this month!

Walmart Apopka Re-Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting

On Friday, August 10th, the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce proudly participated in the Re-Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the newly remodeled Walmart Apopka Store. In attendance to celebrate the new look were many Walmart Associates, along with Mayor Bryan Nelson, Apopka City Commissioner Doug Bankson , Chamber Board Members and Ambassadors.
