Government Affairs & Issues Committee...Description
Please join us on Thursday, September 24th at 12 p.m. for our next Government Affairs & Issues Committee Meeting, as we discuss the potential impacts to our economy if Amendment 2 is passed on the November ballot. This Virtual Committee Meeting will include Andrew Wiggins, who is the Senior Director of Political Affairs & Coalitions Advocacy for the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Dr. Jerry Parrish, Chief Economist and Director of Research for the Florida Chamber Foundation.
The role of the Government Affairs & Issues Committee is to monitor and provide recommendations on issues that are relevant to the business community in the Apopka area, the Greater Orange County region and the State of Florida as a whole. The committee can also provide recommendations to the Board of Directors and develop communications to membership about potential action or policies.
If passed, this amendment would make Florida the first and only state in the nation with a $15 an hour mandate in its state constitution and Dr. Parrish and Andrew will be answering your questions.
