Why did you want to serve on the Board of Directors?
Members of the McLeod Law Firm have been involved with the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce for over 50 years because we understand the importance of being personally connected and involved in our community. By serving on the Board of Directors I am able to provide input on how the Chamber can best benefit its members, the business community as well as the Apopka community as a whole.
What is your business philosophy?
The McLeod Law Firm is committed to maintain the business principles established by the late Johnie A. McLeod, founder of the law firm. It is important that our attorneys and staff know their clients and work hand-in-hand to ensure proper representation.
What is your proudest achievement?
To look around my community and see where and how the McLeod Law Firm has been directly and indirectly involved with the growth and success of the City of Apopka.
What have you found most valuable about your involvement with the Chamber?
Networking with members of the Chamber of Commerce provides me ready access to a vast wealth of experience and knowledge.
What do you think makes the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce different from other business organizations?
The Chamber of Commerce was not established to benefit specific business or community interests – it is best at providing knowledge and access to the Apopka area as a whole
What book (or author) has influenced you most in your business career?
“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee – I wanted to be a “country lawyer” to be active in my community and to be respected for my abilities and reputation to do what is “right.”
