Over 350 Attend the 2018 Apopka Area Political Hob Nob & Straw Poll

APOPKA, FL (July 10, 2018) – On Tuesday, July 10, 2018 the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce held its 2018 Apopka Area Political Hob Nob & Straw Poll at the Apopka Community Center. We had over 27 candidates who participated, along with several groups who are supporting various ballot initiatives. With over 350 people in attendance, this Hob Nob was one of the most successful events in recent history!
By utilizing a more effective, powerful, and attractive platform, we were able to bring together a diverse group of candidates running for local, statewide, and national offices, all in one dynamic event. We are grateful to each of the candidates and their willingness to share their valuable time with us. Ultimately, we achieved our primary objective of informing and bringing awareness to our community, about the candidates and the issues that we be on the ballot this fall.
On behalf of the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce, we would like to thank all of our Sponsors including Mullinax Ford of Central Florida, University of Central Florida, Orlando Health, AT&T, Alan Byrd & Associates, Vose Law Firm, Greenberg Traurig, LLP, Anuvia Plant Nutrients, Waste Management – Vista Landfill, Clear Channel Outdoor Orlando, The Apopka Chief and the Salem Media Group, along with the candidates for their support and involvement.
Finally, we would like to thank the Orange County Supervisor of Elections for conducting our Straw Poll and we congratulate each of the winners of the Straw Poll. The Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to continuing to our mission of serving the economic development, prosperity, and sustainability of our community and region through connectivity, leadership, education and support.
