Why did you want to serve on the Board of Directors?
I think that the City of Apopka is very progressive and well run. I see serving on the Board of Directors as an opportunity to contribute to the further growth and direction of the City. In addition, my company is making a substantial investment in Apopka. Serving gives me an opportunity to interact with the leaders in business and in the community.
What is your business philosophy?
Surround yourself with smart people then spend your time removing obstacles that impede their progress. Integrity is one of the few things in business, and in life, over which you have complete control.
What is your proudest achievement?
Aside from marrying my wife and raising my son, it would be when I was part of a small focused team that went overseas to take over the design and construction of a major strategic project.
What have you found most valuable about your involvement with the Chamber?
I am a member of the Board so to date it is having the opportunity to work with a very strong group of Apopka’s civic leaders.
What do you think makes the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce different from other business organizations?
Apopka is a growing city with great infrastructure but significant untapped potential. The Chamber is in a position to influence and assist in setting the direction for the future development of Apopka.
What book (or author) has influenced you most in your business career?
“Good to Great” by Jim Collins, and “Execution” by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan.
