Why did you want to serve on the Board of Directors?
In the short time I have lived here (10 years) I have seen Apopka flourish, and I want to be part of that growth and help by giving to my community.
It’s all in customer service coupled with understanding and compassion. The customer may not always be right but there is always something that can be done to satisfy that customer.
Finding the niche in my life as a business woman and the steps along the way to now; becoming an Apopkan and partnering with local businesses. Ryko’s Memorial Garden was the best!
Being “in the know” of what is happening in the community – socially, politically, with growth, etc. It is exciting!
What do you think makes the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce different from other business organizations?
The involvement of such a diverse group of people with such a wealth of knowledge from all aspects of the business world – corporate, legal, religious, small business… all aiming for the same goal in the community where they work and live.
What book (or author) has influenced you most in your business career?
I am such an avid reader I devour anything and everything; businesses for sales, marketing, anything Pete Drucker, Six Sigma.
